My dogs are my family–simple as that. They are the children I never had. Sophie (Princess Sophie Marie) is a gorgeous Lhasa Apso I purchased from a breeder before I became acutely aware of the need for more people to commit to rescue. Izzy (Princess Isabella) is an adorable Shih Tzu mix I rescued. They are my 2nd and 3rd companion dogs. My 1st (and the puppy-love-of-my-life) was Jesse James, the most beautiful Maltese I have ever seen. He was my little shadow for eleven years. Sophie is quickly closing in on 14 years (birthday in December) and Izzy is estimated to be about 9 years old. As I continue to share my thoughts I will write about each of them and some of my experiences with rescue. Happy tails to you!
When I wrote this entry both Izzy and Sophie were with me . . . now, sadly, they are both Heavenly residents. They passed five weeks apart–to the day. What words can I write about this difficult time that can fully describe? None. I considered removing the photo from the blog, but why? Izzy and Sophie were my furry children and will always live in my heart.
